Good to be back home in Mystical Kingdom

January 6th, 2008 by Ley Wrangler

Today the 2ndblog editor came back to SL after one month in mental exile in RL. And eventhough SL often seems like alot of appearance only, he was stunned by all the IM’s he received just seconds after his login. Friends are everywhere - and to them I seem to be more than just appearance… Thanks alot guys :-)

The editor is alive - Happy New Year

January 2nd, 2008 by Ley Wrangler

There still is a pulse, so he really is still alive. The blog has been awfully quiet for the entire last month of 2007 - however it appears to be very well written. The blog’s reading level is rated ‘Genius’.. Geez, I hope I didn’t leave some readers out in the dark.

A very silent 2ndblog

November 23rd, 2007 by Ley Wrangler

For what it’s worth I am sorry for letting the readers of the 2ndblog down. I haven’t written anything in three weeks due to private affairs. I hope everybody will accept and many will even understand.

Cancer research supporters return to web 1.0

November 6th, 2007 by Ley Wrangler

It’s not a retreat from the virtual world - on the contrary. The Association for International Cancer Research (AICR) has launched an “old fashioned” website to support the organization’s growing activity in Second Life. In fact the website seems to explain the reason for the virtual activities to the not yet so virtual AICR-supporters.

SL-online seminar end with a crash

October 30th, 2007 by Ley Wrangler

The already prosponed guided tour/seminar through SL for the class of students at the danish IT-University ended in a disappointing crash. The University internal connections and server were not scaled to have an entire class of stundents roam around SL at once. So after just two stops on the tour, it was cancelled and abandoned leaving me alone to explain the probs to the AICR-creator Kristopher Tenk and the AvaStar chief editor Regis Braathens .. Rats :-(

October 16th, 2007 by Ley Wrangler

The attempt to beat the standing record of £229 raised in an AICR SL-charity auction seems to have been a success. Kristopher Tenk (Kris Munro) from CC Technologies in Scotland and the british AICR managed to raise L$222402 (around US$800) at the charity auction on the 15th of october 2007 in the newly rebuild ruins of Loch Lomond.

Real art and false paintings on display

October 14th, 2007 by Ley Wrangler

You have to watch out in SL too, when you’re looking for real art for your house. If you’re like me - a miserable amateur - you can get easily deceived. On the ‘Palace of Classical Paintings’ there is a nice painting called “Nightmare” by Fuessli. It’s really a remake of the 1781 painting “Nightmare” by John Henry Fuseli.

Track real life airplanes in Second Life

September 24th, 2007 by Ley Wrangler

Hamlet Au, editor of the New World Notes-blog about Second Life, has a very interesting post today (24th of September 2007) about real life airplanes being tracked and monitored in an Second Life application.
I strongly recommend all SL-gigs to take a closer look into this - something seemingly useless - but with the right development […]
